SAMSUNG HAS OFFICIALLY unveiled the Galaxy S9 and S9+, its duo of flagships for 2018 that failed to have many surprises in store.

Given the huge amount of leaks building up to Samsung's MWC presser, news of the smartphone's upgraded dual aperture cameras, 10nm innards and ability to capture 'super slo-mo' video was expected months in advance. The only surprising bit of information, perhaps, was the Galaxy S9's pricing, with the duo of flagships set to cost less than some rumours had suggested.

Release date

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be available, as expected, from 16 March in the UK. Pre-orders are live now. Those who pre-ordered before 7 March will be starting to receive their handsets now, with Samsung offering early buyers delivery from 9 March.

The larger cousin of the Galaxy S9, the Galaxy S9 Plus comes with a 6.2in, 18.5:9 QHD+ display. The resolution is the same as on the smaller model, giving the Galaxy S9 Plus a lower PPI of 530. 

Elsewhere, little separates the two phones. The Galaxy S9 Plus runs on the same 2.7GHz Exynos 9810 processor, has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage (expandable up to 400GB via microSD) and the same front and rear camera combinations.
